Hi Jeff:
AFAICT, your above reply is not marked off with the character '>'. This, to
all intents and purposes, breaks the thread. While WLM 2011 works with HTML
posting, I am doing this in plain text. The news server I am using accepts
only plain text posts and replies, so the news reader must be able to handle
working in plain text. AFAICT, plain text replies are broken in WLM 2011 so

Agreed with you on the HTML / plain text. Plain text is both sufficientWow, your newsreader (Microsoft Windows Live Mail 15.4.3502.922) is
seriously broken. Adding the> character to the quoted material when
you reply is the job of your client. It's not the job of the person
before you to whom you're replying.
Also, please don't try to separate your new text from the old text
with a "dash dash space" combination. That sequence of characters is
reserved for delimiting the signature. When a working newsreader
encounters that, it knows that everything after it can safely be
trimmed. In your case, it would have trimmed your entire reply.
And lastly, fortunately for the rest of us, you're using a server that
only accepts plain text posts or we would surely be graced by HTML
from you. Please don't use HTML on Usenet.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen....Maybe MS will smarten up and add WM to W-7 in the future.
You can use OE6 in Win7 but you have to be using Win7 Pro or higher and“Have you tried moving OE6 to your W-7 PC? It would have to go into the
(x86) folder."
That will not work. OE will not work on Windows 7. However, Windows Mail
from Vista can work if you copy it into W7... search for instructions if
needed.

I said the signature messed up someone's reply by letting it be grayed
out, since that reply was incorrectly placed after the sig, and I talked
about changing the quote character, not the sig delimiter.
The sig delimiter is a Usenet and e-mail standard...
