What's with all these updates????

J

J. P. Gilliver (John)

Not entirely true: updates have been known to break things. (I don't
know if this is true for 7 yet.) On the whole they're more likely to fix
things, granted.

Ah, "their fair share". Who of course is to say what's fair (-:!

Your favorite movie

Be honest and don't look at the movie list below till you have done the
math.

Try this test and find out what movie is your favorite.

This amazing math quiz can likely predict which of 18 movies you would
enjoy the most. It really works!

Movie Test:

Pick a number from 1-9.
Let's call it x.
Multiply by 3.
3x.

Add 3.
3x + 3 [or 3(x+1)].
Multiply by 3 again.
9x + 9 [or 9(x+1)].
Now add the two digits of your answer together to find your predicted
favorite movie in the list of 18 movies below.
The number is a multiple of 9, between 18 and 90. All such numbers
consist of digits that add to 9.
Movie List:

1. Gone With The Wind
2. E.T.
3. Blazing Saddles
4. Star Wars
5. Forrest Gump
6. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
7. Jaws
8. Grease
9. The Obama farewell speech of 2012 (-:

10. Casablanca
11. Jurassic Park
12. Shrek
13. Pirates of the Caribbean
14. Titanic
15. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
16. Home Alone
17. Mrs. Doubtfire

Probably because he's already made more money than 5 generations of Gates'
could spend LOL!! Maybe Obama can convince him to help with the national
debt so I can keep my Social Security :-(
Gates the Republican?? Why would he want to help, after helping to create it.

Bill Gates didn't "get out", he's still employed at Microsoft, last I
heard.

At the risk of contributing to this off-topic drift, Bill Gates has
been quite vocal about being willing to have a higher tax rate levied
against people in his income bracket. If you really want to know why,
you'd have to ask him or read what he has already said on the topic,
but the 'why' doesn't really matter. The point is that he's willing to
pay more. I'll stop there.

In spite of all his billions (or because of them), I have always admired the
contributions he and Melinda have made to the youth of America. I guess he
would fall into both the most envied (because of his money) and the most
hated (because of his money) man in America. Damned if you do, damned if you
don't :)

Thanks Char. It never ceases to amaze me when I read these anti-Gates
tirades from people who obviously know very little about Bill Gates. Have
you ever read one of his books? Have you ever looked over the information on
the Gates Foundation web site? Have you ever visited his blog and tried to
learn anything about what he says and thinks?

No, he isn't. Although he's a member of (and chairman of) the board,
he is no longer a Microsoft employee, and has not been one for a
couple of years now.

In the sense that Benedict is employed by the Roman Catholic Church!

Thanks for the correction. I didn't realize he had stepped down in
2008, but he remains the largest stockholder.

You're welcome, and yes, he still owns a *lot* of Microsoft stock, as
far as I know.

As a board member, he also pulls down a salary of $200,000 (cash and
stock) annually.

No wonder you are still a dummy!

Hey!! Who's plagiarizing my line???
As a board member, he is likely not a "statutory" employee, so he is
paid, but it's not exactly a "salary". I believe it's one of those odd
things written into the tax law exemptions etc. for "fat cats".
