I still wish that the scanner mfrs and MS would eliminate the unneeded
wait for the lamp bit that I still see in some of the scanner software.

I ordered an Epson V33. I don't have real high end needs, so didn't do
a lot of research. Many user reviews complained about the software not
being friendly. The only other scanner I've owned was also an Epson,
and I liked the software because it gave me far more control over the
scanner than any other scanner I ran across. I'm hoping the current
software is the same way.

I simply abhor HP's scanner software. I call it the software for the
computer illiterate. Almost nothing is left to the user to adjust in
the ones I've used.

Tired, and forgot to mention, the V33 scanner uses LED's, no lamp warmup
time.
