Defragmenting 'System'

Not especially. You just like to read long lines, is all. The three-word
chunking you noticed when testing yourself is quite normal.
I just don't have a problem reading long lines. And I do detest wasting space. Also if an article is long, why have it go off the page?
It's a fairly common phenomenon, which also works with people and
objects in the peripheral vision field. We see a lot more than we pay
attention to.
I thought the centre of your eye had a MUCH greater resolution?
The opposite is also common: _not_ noticing something in
your field of vision. You're more likely to recall such
not-quite-noticed items when you are not fully focussed on your task.

Think "paying attention", and how complicated that is. Our senses
provide us with a vastly larger quantity of data than we pay attention
to. Well before the "paying attention" phase, that data is filtered in
many different ways. Conscious attention applies even more filters.
Training for any process, procedure, method, activity, etc, requires
learning how to apply filters so that distracting cues are ignored. When
you are well-trained, most of these filters operate below the level of
conscious awareness. Etc.
I see.

Lieutenant, you really should read up on a subject before you pronounce
on it. The fact is that we do not read one letter at a time.

Etc.
I was thinking too superficially. If you look at one letter in a word, then look at another, your eye moves. I thought you meant that your eye doesn't bother moving until the point of focus you're asking for is a certain distance away from the centre of your retina.

A man comes out of a shopping mall to find that the side of his parked car is rammed in.
Seeing a note under the windshield, he read it.
On the paper is written: "As I'm writing this, about a dozen people are watching me. They think I'm giving you my name, phone number, and insurance company. But I'm not."

Having kill filed him I hope to not see him at all.

How can anyone not find "citizen (or denizen) of the network" pompous?
The major requirement is a sense of humor. Or a sense of humour, even.

If it will help you: the first time I saw the word "netizen", I took it
to mean "denizen of the net", not "citizen ...". I always felt it was a
creative and gently humorous coinage, and not at all pompous.

You're replying to a discussion about me. Killfile me properly there's a good lad.

That's not surprising either. People *can* change, but usually don't -
IOW, once an idiot, always an idiot.

Kudos for the valiant effort. Not all campaigns are successful.
Thanks. In this case, it became apparent that the behavior is
intentional and likely designed to provoke a response - IOW, it's a
troll and I needed to treat it as such. Either that or it is a horse's
backside, and I need to treat it as one - boils down to the same thing.

Says the guy named after a fictional character with two heads.

It's someone who disagrees with you, and you can't handle it.

We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the works of Shakespeare.
Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.
