When I click into windows explorer all I can see is the following:

Everything below the above is gone (does not display). How do I get those
libraries/folders/Drives back?
Desktop

I'm not sure this will work. If you can see the attachment, everything below
(Recent Places) does not display on the left panel, on the computer in
question when in Windows Explorer...

Fortunately, it didn't work. Please don't include attachments in this
newsgroup. Instead, upload an image to an image hosting site on the
Internet and give us the link. Doing so will not only help in this
thread, but will also serve as good experience for future threads.

What's interesting, is when I look at your post here, there is not
even a hint an attachment exists. Sometimes, when people post an
attachment, I can see the top 10% of the image, until this server
truncates it and chops off the rest. But the structure of the message,
doesn't have any multi-part MIME in it. It's like your client, isn't
in the right mode to attach something (and neither do we want you
to set it that way!).

As Char says, use a picture server. I use imageshack.us when
I need to post a picture. There are others.

I cannot figure out how to use the suggested remedies listed so far.

Let me try to word my problem differently:

How do I get Homegroup and Computer visible in the Windows Explorer
Navigation Pane located on the left side of Windows Explorer? Currently,
all I see there is Favorites and Libraries.

Just dumping your keywords into a search, takes me to this article.

"Homegroup Computer Windows Explorer"

http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/springboard/archive/2009/09/08/windows-7-homegroup.aspx

I see a picture there, where the user has a Homegroup, and consequently
there is something to browse.

Homegroup, as far as I know, is for adding one Windows 7 computer
to another Windows 7 computer. If you mix all sorts of different
Windows OSes together, that wouldn't be the way to go. If you
have all Windows 7 computers, the scheme would work great.

What kind of mix of computers do you have ?

Paul,

My problem is not specifically Homegroup. It is more Windows Explorer and
how I get Homegroup (If utilized) and Computer to be reflected in WinExp
Library Pane?

If you look at the tutorial, third picture down, what does your
Homegroup control panel show. Does it match the example ?

Maybe based on your feedback, someone else will chime in.

If you don't post pictures, find a picture similar to
what you're seeing, and tell us how your desktop information
differs.

Right-click on Favorites and select "Restore favorite links" and see if that
fixes it. Without a pic of it, that's about all I got.

To post a pic, open WE and press ALT+PrtScn (it'll seem like nothing
happened). Open Paint and click on Paste. Save it as a JPG or GIF to a
location you'll easily remember. Open Internet Explorer (or whatever browser
you use), and go to http://tinypic.com/index.php (that's just one of many,
but the one I'm familiar with). Click on Browse, then go to where you stored
the picture. Highlight it and click on Open. A Captcha screen will come up;
enter what it says. Then the final screen will come up with links to the pic
you just uploaded. Copy the link for "URL for E-mail & IM" and paste that
link into a reply here. Then we can see what yours looks like.

The owner of the computer would have no idea how to change Registry. I
suspect she may have deleted Libraries, Homeroup, Computer and Network from
the WE NAV Pane somehow. I was hoping for a way to restore it with out dong
a new install/upgrade of Win7.

Have you been messing with the registry? Or has someone else been
tinkering in there?
Look here. Your problem is fully shown;

You can verify that opinion by looking to see if the Registry is intact.
If so, then perhaps someone might enlighten us about to how to achieve
the same without a Registry hack.

Blimey, yes. I've just had a look at their download page;
http://www.door2windows.com/category/downloads/

There are all kinds of little jigger programs there. There's one to
"Transform Windows 7 Into Windows 8". And another to "Transform Windows
7 Into Mac OS X Lion (10.7)".

I must take a look at the "Microsoft Fix It Center Online: Automatically
Detects Windows Problems & Repairs Them" on page 6.

Some out-of-work programmer (or maybe a retired philanthropist) has been
busy! And here's my cap off to him.

Since your picture looks perfectly normal, I can't guess what's bugging
you.

Do you mean some items are missing from your Favorites? If so, why don't
you just add them?

You can drag a folder from the right pane to the favorites in the left
pane. Be careful not to drop it on one of the folders in the favorites
tree or you'll lose sight of it - watch the pop-up message which tells
you where it's going.

Don't try to put files there - it might seem to work, but the results
might not be what you want.
