so if you have both sticks the same, installed in slots, it wont work, take 1 out and it works, then most likely cause is bad slot. remove mother board make sure nothing got under it to cause a short.
I agree Core that it seems like the problem of hardware you should try to install different type of hard drive . If it not works then contact to hardware engineer.
