Windows 7 News Reader

Hello,

What are folks using for a news reader in Windows 7?

Dan
Agent rules! (I use version 4.2, myself. Is version 6 really a big
improvement, anyone?)

I use Agent 6. I thought it was a fairly big improvement when it first
came out, but it's been long ago enough that I can't remember what I
thought was better about it.

Is it free? A good link?

I use Agent 2.0. I've trialed some of the newer versions and don't
like them as well as this one.
Like you, I have purchased newer versions and have always reverted
back to Agent 1.93. The newer versions are too complex for me to use
(IQ and belt size are reaching crossover point).

I updated to the 2011 package and after a few days frustration have reverted
back to the 2009 versions. Two things annoyed me, firstly you don't seem to
be able to indent a message that you are replying to with the ">" character
and secondly ANY new posting to ANY previous topic moves that replied to
topic to the top when sorted on date. Searching to see if it was just me
having the problem showed others also affected by these new features. Didn't
bother seeing what else had changed. If anyone does know how to get around
those features, please let us know.

Hear! Hear! I'm using Agent 1.91 and, in over 15 years (I
began w/Agent 1.5) it has_never_failed me.

free MicroPlanet Gravity works for me on Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit
Look here http://mpgravity.sourceforge.net/
All of your replies to posts have the person's name removed from the top
of the post, so it's difficult to make out who you are responding to.
Is this maybe a setting error or is it default behaviour for MicroPlanet Gravity ?

I think so. HTML support (for reading HTML posts, not creating them),
support for multiple servers, etc, etc.

Version 5 introduced nesting folders, dragging and dropping folders,
tabbed folders.

Me, too. A reply loses a lot of its meaning if you can't tell who and
what it's replying to.
I noticed you are using Xnews and wondered what an X-face was.
So on Googling I ended up here!

Why can't I see yours, does Windows Live Mail ignore it or is it
something more basic ?
