Please, please, please learn to quote properly. Your follow-up was
absolutely indistinguishable from the post you were replying to.
Poor quoting is somewhat excusable with WLM's latest version, but that
isn't the case with "PeeCee".

Poor quoting is somewhat excusable with WLM's latest version,

My view is different; I don't think it's ever excusable, regardless of
what newsreader you use. Everyone *should* use a newsreader that does
the proper things, but even if your newsreader doesn't, you can make
it do the right things with a little manual effort.

mmmmm, sorry bout the indent/insert quote marks, I hadn't noticed it wasn't
happening.
(and still not as you can see)
I had a look back and it appears to have stopped when WLM upgraded to
Version 2011 a couple of weeks ago.
Mail is being indented/quoted but not news.

Now I've got a problem, I can't make WLM indent/insert quote marks in news.
The apparent official way is Options/Mail/Send/News Sending Format/Plain
Text Settings/Tick "Indent message on Reply"
Unfortunately the tick box and the text 'Indent message...' are 'not' there.
It is under HTML Settings, but 'NOT' under Plain Text Settings.

Thinking it may have been an upgrade glitch I checked another PC with WLM
2011 on it and that one hasn't got the tick box either.

I did find a reference to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\news and
the 'Indent Reply Text' key.
(Change to Hex 3E to get the > character)
Checked on HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\mail and there was also
a key called 'Include Reply Msg'
So I added that to the news key but still no "Indent message on reply"
option.

????????????

How do I fix

Update

Seems the basterds at M$ deleted the indent message on reply from the final
version of WLM 2011.
Apparently it was broken in the beta's so the lazy layabouts simply took it
out rather than fix it.

OK I'm off to try T'bird or somat else.

Another reason why I stayed with WLM2009. You can go back to it, or use OE
QuoteFix http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/ . It works with
OE, Windows Mail (Vista), and WLM2009. Haven't tried it with 2011, though.
Or go to T'bird or one of the other thousands of newsreaders or
mail/newsreader combos.
