· OS - Windows 7
· x86 (32-bit)
· What was original installed OS on system? Vista
· Is the OS an OEM version: purchased it from retailer
· Age of system 2007
· Age of OS installation - 2 days
· CPU: AMD Athlon 64X 2 6400+
· Video Card: New, Nvidia Geforce GT 430
· MotherBoard: AsusTek M2n#@-SLI Deluxe
· Power Supply - OCZ, at least 700w

. I reformatted, re-installed Win7, Bought and installed a new Video card, and made sure all Drivers were Up to date...The BSOD have gotten worse. It no longer happens just when I play Video games, it's happening all the time now...even while sitting idle on my desktop. Any idea?

Hello and welcome.

1) Remove AVG in safe mode with the tool here:

http://windows7forums.com/blue-screen-death-bsod/50402-removal-tools-antivirus-software-drivers.html

Reboot and install MSE to replace it.

2) Install my attachment to update this very old and faulty driver:

ASACPI ASACPI.sys Thu Aug 12 22:52:52 2004

3) Download and install the latest NVIDIA chipset driver package from here:

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=szSFtrap7crpBaQE

When done, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename nvm62x32.sys to nvm62x32.BAK. Reboot.

4) Your Silicon Image card has only very old 2007 drivers. It may be partially responsible for some the bsods you're having. Please take care of the above steps and post new crash dumps after, if necessary.

5) Also, post a screenshot of CPU-Z memory and spd tabs.

Im attempting to DL the Nvidia chipset, that site doesn't seem to be working. The Download tab remains blank for me.

Ya, there actually is no update as I was just checking. Forget it and delete the file I said to instead, only.

Then install this using the device manager for the Silicon Image card. The drivers are still from 2007, but there is an update to 2 of the 3 involving the card included:

http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/3132_x86_1.0.22.4_logo.zip

(Refresh and check this link again. I changed it.)

Reboot.

Also, post a screenshot of CPU-Z memory and spd tabs.
I know how to take a Screenshot...just need Clarification on what you need a screenshot of.

I apologize, Im not very technical speak savy :p

One of the spd tab and one of the memory tab, as I've said.

No problems...but ya...refresh this page first then check on the Silicon Image link and install, in my previous post, too.

I'm not sure where to find the CPU-Z and spd tabs, could you direct me?

Also, installed and rebooted everythign you have listed. As for the SLI driver, I had already done that early this morning, so it wouldn't let me re-update it with the same driver.

SLI driver?

You mean the Silicon Image driver? That's for a storage card you have and needs to be installed. Simply do this since you don't know how to do so in the device manager.

Download the file and extract it to a folder. Copy the 3 .sys files and paste them to overwrite the ones at C:\Windows\System32\drivers then reboot.

Then memory settings are fine, btw.

Have you had any crashes since?

kk, did it. In the system32/drivers folder now there is si3132r5.sys and si3132r.sys, is that ok?

I haven't had any crashes yet, I'll keep waiting and post the dump if I do :)

No, delete these files: si3132r5.sys and si3132r.sys

In my download link is:

Si3132.sys
SiRemFil.sys
SiWinAcc.sys

Redownload and extract. Then:

copy those and paste to the driver folder, overwriting the orignals. Reboot.

Good to hear there are no crashes.

Just got another BSOD while sitting idle on Desktop, below is what the Bluescreenviewer says.

I'm also attaching the Minidumps which contain the newest BSOD.

I got another BSOD after righting this reply, while idle on Desktop again. Found something that may be of concern in my device manager....but device manager is not letting me update it.

None of the steps I said to do have been done at all besides renaming the NVIDIA file.

Please review the thread and start from the beginning.

Let me know when you're done and I'll have an update for the NVIDIA lan driver.

Did that, first thing.

I did that as well, It shows the driver date as 5/13/2009.

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 2229297b, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: 8de80ad4, Trap Frame

Ok, I think thats an issue with how I zipped the dump files. I zipped them all together, so it was also showing my previous dumps.

The last BSOD I had didn't create a minidump file.

I'll be honest, I'm not that technical savvy.

I can assure you that AVG was uninstalled, using the link you provided...and the drivers have been updated, with the links you provided...maybe that info was from the BSOD prior to when I uninstalled them.

I deleted all the minidump files in the Window folder...will that help?

No, it doesn't matter if the old crash dump files are still present or not.

If there are new ones, please post them.

Cool though.
