FYI Stan, it's been established in another thread in this group, that Mr.
Clayton doesn't care how his quoting style appears.
Thanks for the heads-up. I must have missed that thread, or I would
have killfiled him already.

Actually, it's as well I didn't. Despite his slightly snarky reply
to me, apparently he has gone back to WLM 14 after all.

Actually, no he hasn't - one of his replies appeared to be, but either
that was on a different machine or he re-updated to the offending
version.

LOL, am I really the only person who owns more than one PC?
Damn, I know not long ago it was not "common" for a household to own more
than one. When they were a substantial investment it was even common for
many to not own one at all, but rather go somewhere they could use one.
I have 1 laptop that is mine in that I am the primary user. The one I am
on now is a desktop that Wife and I both use. This one as you can see does
have the latest version of WLM on it. I have been using this one more than
normal lately since I am still taking some typing classes at school.
Learning to type has been a PAINFULLY slow process. The lessons get boring
so I often will play in one of the Yahoo groups I belong to or in Usenet
while "working" both at home and school. Makes the practice more fun. It's
still a little easier on a full keyboard although I do make myself practice
on my laptop too since that is what I will use the most at work. My laptop I
have not yet updated. I wanted to try the new version for a while first. It
seems to be working fine, at least for me.

ROTFLMAO!!
This is from the guy who regularly gets into a name calling contest with
Frank, while telling everyone that Linux is the "only" way to go?? It would
really break my heart to think you would filter me.

I have always said to use both and get the best of both worlds, liar.

It

Not gonna happen. I intend to make your life miserable until you start
acting right and use a decent news program.
LOL, if you have lot's of time on your hands by all means have fun.

Great, glad I can be of assistance. As I said the typing program I bought is
good, but it gets tedious following along. A little playing in the groups
and Usenet is good practice and fun.
Has it really been a year or better since you and "Frank" were going at
it? Too lazy to look at the archives right now. It did not seem like it had
been that long. I had tried to filter him a few times but either he kept
changing his headers or WLMs filter just does not work well as I would still
keep seeing stuff from him. I normally would just delete it but at times
there seemed to be a lot of it.

If you are happy with XP then there is nothing to worry about as long as
you can use it.
Bullshit.

I would be fine with it if MS had kept XP.
No one cares what you are fine with and what you're not fine with.
The problem
is they did not. I am sure it will be easy to use for a while to come,
but as happens when a new OS comes out as time passes it will get to be
more of a problem. sounds like it would be worth investing in a good book.
Or have a brain. You obviously need a book and a brain.

My first tries with Agent Ransack look really good! It is amazingly
fast!
Thanks!

When I first tried Agent Ransack, I hated it. Then later I started
seeing a lot of favorable remarks here, & I wondered if it had changed,
so I tried it again, and now I really like it.

I have no idea if there was a real operational change, or if I was just
running it wrong, or if I was confused and actually running another
program :)

But since it serves me well now, I'll leave the great mystery unsolved.

The current version of Agent Ransack came out a year or two ago, and
it's exellent. The previous version was missing some important features
and the interface was not well-designed, IMO. I bet you're remembering
the inferior first version befor trying the revamped new one.

And if you actually read my post, that was one of the two
possibilities I presented.

But, as evidenced by the outcry from many people in this group and
others, it does not work well for those who read posts that have been
mangled by WLM 15. Please, do not update your laptop, and please,
uninstall the piece of junk WLM 15 from your other machine(s) and
either revert back to WLM14 or another news reader that posts and
quotes properly.

What you call an outcry is something I see as pretty pathetic. I will be
glad to make you a deal though. I will pick out a new laptop and new desk
top. Let you know what they run and as soon as you pay for them I will try
your "approved" news reader?
Seriously though you will be glad to hear that both versions of WLM are
screwing up for me. Keep bringing back threads that were deleted and showing
stuff read as unread. No big deal here but on another group with a lot of
traffic I take part in it is annoying enough to get me to try again with a
different reader. I have long liked Mozz. web browser so thought I would try
their reader again. Last time I tried it would not talk to my feed but this
time it did. Will be playing with it a little more to try it. So far looks
like a pretty cool program.
In the meantime if you use a search engine I suspect your news reader has
some kind of filter. If it is too complicated for you to use I am sure
someone here can point you to an easier reader to use so you never see
anything I write. If you just like to whine though, well knock yourself out.

-- If you find a message from me to be off topic, offensive, or you don’t
like the way my news reader formats it, just ignore it. If you don’t know
how to do this, just e-mail me to complain and I will be all to glad to
demonstrate how.
