Hi.
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this or not.

At present I am useing Windows XP OS. Computer approx 4 yrs old.
I would like to buy a new comp with Windows 7 64 bit.

I have many documents saved on a external HD,saved mainly with
M S works version 8 that came with this computer, most saved documentS
are works 8 processer doc.MS works 8 database and MS 8 word docs.

I would of course still like to open these documents on the external HD
via
USB cable connected to new Win 7 computer.

So does Windows 7 ship with a MS works program like works 8 ??
that would be able to (open docs) saved with MS V8 or does a version
later than MS works 8 ship with new computer that would work.

Hope I've made things clear.
Thanks .
Baz .

The more people I meet.
The more I love my dog.

Go for it. I bought a Dell Studio 8100, and it came with Works. The only
issues I had were my QuickBooks 2000 and Quicken 2000. They wouldn't work
and were replaced. But the data converted with no problem.

Keep in mind; people do what you want to do by the thousands a day. It's
no big deal.
Windows Live 2009 (Version 14) download:

Remove everything of Windows Live 2011 in Add/Remove Programs, then install
what you want of Version 14.

Hi Baz,
I've just tested for you running MS Work 9 on Vista and Windows 7 64 bit.
Works 9 opens any Word or Works 7 & 9 documents originally saved
in 90. using word 97, Office 2000, 2003 and 2007.
BTW No MS Work come with OS - it is added as an extra only by
PC / laptop maker. It's done by HP and Dell for sure, (probably Acer
too).
If you buy Win 7 and install it yourself - it comes without any additional
aplication. Even Windows Live Mail (which I hate) is not install by
defautl.
