Unable to sync time

You'd be betting wrong.
The following is by the original poster

Time service is set to automatic,

It is a new Dell system,it holds time and date for days with power off, but the clock loosening
about 3-4 seconds a day, which is the reason for the need to re sync dally.

I have yet to find third party time sync program the will load or run correctly with Windows 7 Home
64 bit.

The reason I was attempting to use task scheduler was in response to my MS Windows 7 answers
quarry.

Yes I have done the register hack to reset the re sync interval to 1 hr, I also tried 4 & 8 hour.
as of now the system clock is 5 seconds fast after a forced re sync yesterday to try a new
approach.

The reason for all this BS is that I have two time critical programs that need to start at a exact
time, =- 2 seconds.

I have used Atom time for years, from Windows 95 through XP with excellent results until the PS in
the XP went, and took the BIOS with it.

I had always used Atomic Clock Sync at
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/atomic-clock/. However, when I bought a
new Dell i3 with W7Pro, I tried to use the latest (3.0) version. It
didn't seem to play nice on this computer. But, I remember having a
similar problem with a friend's computer and also my older laptop (XP)
when I was re-doing the whole thing a few month ago. The problem was
that it wouldn't automatically run once per day. It was just an
executable program that you had to run manually. I tried putting it in
Start-up and it still didn't play right. Sooooooo, I downloaded the
older version (further down on their page) and installed it. I did put
it in Start-up. I optioned it to start up minimized and to sync
everyday. Seems to be working well. I shut off the one that W7
provides. BTW, it sync'd this morning when I turned on the computer.
It does put a little gold "wedding band" in the tray to the lower right.
Newer doesn't seem to be better in this case.

Why shut off the Win 7 service and go with a 3rd party utility?

As someone said earlier in this tread, why be forced with MS stuff that
only works half way. Actually, in my case, the MS thing didn't well at
all ... sometimes it would sync, sometimes not. That's why I use it.
It seems to work flawlessly.

If it was me, I think I would have investigated and fixed the existing
capability rather than disable it and use a third party utility. YMMV

For most people, so does the built-in functionality. ;-)

Haaar! Fixing something MS designed... Let's see... Google for
"Windows fixes"... Amusing. *Exactly* 44,100,000 hits (this may
be more or less amusing depending on how much you know about
audio).

Well, at least you'd have help from people who have been fixing
MS products for about 20 years.

Define "most people".

Drop this clown like a hot rock. The clown comes in here anti-MS running

You mentioned MS has been "good to you" since you are a
programmer for them. You know, your command of English and the
peculiar syntax of your posts may hold a clue to the overall
quality of MS software.

I realize there are over 90 thousand MS employees and some of
them MUST be smarter than you are, still...
