In the desktop.ini file in the Sendto folder I have the line:When I rt. click 'send to' on a folder I get a desktop option...but no
desktop shortcut option. I have copied the following text file into the
shell: send to folder: Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink
Still I only get the desktop option
Any Ideas?

There is a way to eliminate the word shortcut from the default name of a
shortcut.

That "feature" of windows is not in the same league as hiding file-nameThanks for that, Gene.

OREALLY sees the file, but he doesn't see the item in the Send to menu.If you've created the item *Desktop (create shortcut)* properly in the correct place shell:sendto for your admin account
userprofile then look at that file's properties.
- unlike the Desktop.ini file (if you can see the ini file you have Explorer configured to show hidden 'protected operating system'
files) the *Desktop (create shortcut)* should not have the 'Hidden' attribute enabled - if it is checked as 'hidden' then uncheck
it and reboot.
That was one of the things you could do with the original TweakUI fromThat "feature" of windows is not in the same league as hiding file-name
extensions, but it's still pretty annoying.
I don't remember where I got the info to get rid of that - maybe, since
I knew about it from before, I knew to Google for it - and to save my
notes
Actually, I meant knowing that advice on this issue was available onlineThat was one of the things you could do with the original TweakUI from
Microsoft, so maybe you saw it there.

for later Windowses after TweakUI had gone away.
