Self-guided cursor?

But I like the one I have which has a very large
arrow. One could do this in the past before MS
changed things and now I'm stuck with a thick
cursor.
That's funny.

I just tested it here.

Fired up Windows 7. Went to the Mouse control panel.
Selected "Pointers" tab.

At the top is a Schemes tab, that allows changing
both the arrow and I-beam in one go. You get to
change the decorations as a set, from the Schemes tab.

But, you can also double-click the I-beam line, and
you get to browse a folder full of .cur files. And
you can assign any one you want. That allows you
to customize it.

In the file browser, in the lower left corner, is
a preview pane so you can click on the .cur files and
evaluate them. For example "beam_r.cur" is a
fairly small text I-beam.

I checked and although the faint I-beam shows as
thin in the example box it reverts to the usual
thick one when I go back to test it in an
application.

But wait! I went to the "Ease of Access" centre in
Contol panel and selected "Make the Computer
Easier to See" and then to: "Make the things on
screen easier to see" and then to "Set the
thickness of the blinking cursor", which was set
to "3" and I fixed it by setting it back to "1".
Problem solved...

I believe it is stored in the Mouse drawer of the Control Panel cabinet.--

Maybe you meant "n'est-ce pas".

Anyway, where I worked we were required to keep the rasps in the file
drawer.

Also a leeeetle joke...
