Thus there is still a place for CCleaner and/or jv16 Power Tools.

Well, Revo is just an uninstaller. It just uses the info provided
explicitly or implicitly by the installed program

I take it that CCleaner and the others look for dangling references,
unused EXEs and DLLs, and so on.

When I am feeling less lazy, I should look into that side of them (I
have CCleaner installed, but never run it. Weird...).

I wrote "which makes more sense" above. To be more objective (& less
objectionable!), I should have written "which makes more sense TO ME" -
sorry.

No worries, mate! With no prior knowledge, I just wondered if Revo acted
as a general crap cleaner as well as a superior uninstaller. The answer
is apparently no, and I'm fine with that. I don't have any particular
cause or practice to promote. I just wanted information. Thank you!

I use Revo Uninstaller Pro all the time. It cleans out a lot more of
an application's files and registry entries than does the Windows 7
uninstaller. If you use it to track an installation by right clicking
on the install exe, it will everything that is done during the install
and then remove it all when you uninstall.

I don't believe that CCleaner does anything magical that simply
emptying your temporary files occasionally would do. Even that would
not make your system run any faster unless you were severely limited in
disk space.

CCleaner's registry cleaning features will never make your computer run
faster unless something is severely messed up with your registry.

In other words, I don't believe you.
