Norton Internet Security can prevent System Restore from completing
successfully.

If that happens to be your problem, do this (or the equivalent in your
version):
To allow System Restore with Norton IS:
Open NIS
-> Computer Settings
-> Misc
-> Turn OFF Product Security Tamper Protection
(Copied and pasted from a note I wrote to myself when I still used NIS).
Thanks Gene. I have Avast but even disabling it (which I can do) and Zone
Alarm before setting my restore point doesn't do the trick. I guess I'll
just have to hope that I never need to use it. Sorry about hijacking this
topic everyone. I'll start another thread if I need to discuss further.

If push comes to shove, you can get access to the missing ones via OSK.
Just plug that into the Start, Search/Run box.
Good point. I've actually posted about OSK here before, though not
in this thread.

Actually your Logitech illuminated keyboard may have a scroll lock.
(Mine does) Press the FN key and the pause break key. A funny looking
upside down "T" should light up under the numeric keypad.

Right you are! I never use the programmed functions, so I have tuned
the FN key out of my consciousness, but when I tried it it worked
exactly as you say.

I have no "print screen" key on my Windows7 keyboard? Does
anyone know how I can capture the screen image. Thanks.
Another snapshooter you might consider is FastStone Capture, version 5.3
(later versions aren't free).

Although the default hotkey is PrtSc, it can be programmed to make any
key(s) the capture key(s). Or you can run it from the context menu:

One feature I really like is the ability to capture a full scrolling
window, including areas not visible when the capture begins.

I have no idea if there are any other security programs besides NIS that
have this problem, so I just threw the info out for your consideration.

It would have been nice if it had helped :-(

Thanks for the link :)

I have my share of blond moments too, and I also was a brunet before I
went grey.

Meanwhile, I discover that my netbook has a PrtScrn button which works.
I haven't checked on the Snipping Tool, since I couldn't remember its
name when I had the netbook on.

I also downloaded and tried jetScreenshot, which adds functionality to
the laptop; it was mentioned by Roy Smith in this thread.

I'll look at MWSnap too.
Another is Greenshot, free from http://getgreenshot.org/
