Not the Carbon libs. They are still 32-bit.
And some of the older software that uses the old Carbon libs sometimes fail.
Especially if you have over 4Gb of ram.


The HP printer drivers for Win7 on their newer printers are 64-bit.
Of course it all depends if the company wants to sell their products or
watch their company slowly fail from lack of customers.

Not sure what you are driving at. OS X, as I recall can execute either
32-bit or 64-bit programs. Doubt that this will be a problem for them.
But it seems that it is a problem for Microsoft... but if a printer
company can't get its act together, that is their problem and also a red
flag for someone who owns one of their printers on relying on them for
printer drivers in the future.
