A BIOS update takes under 20 seconds but it is important you don't loose power or crash in that time.

Did you ever have a virus? When anti-virus software removes files it does not do it cleanly. Not all uninstall routines are perfect either. So that warning you get about a problem starting ...yada yada... may simply be because it is still listed in the start-up even though the file has been removed. Getting rid of that message is as simple as removing the entry in your start-up.

Mate,
Sorry to be pain but can you run this command from a command prompt as Administrator
Code:
wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 2
What it does is set the crash dump from a mini dump to a kernel dump. Basically it gives us a little more information.

When it crashes upload the crash file. I am going to try and ask a person that I know if he can tell me if it is the disk or the motherboard.

Is this the same dump file as I have uploaded before, or something else.
If the same, then it is here.

I really appreciate your help on this. I am willing to chance a bios update or buy a new harddrive, but it would be great to know it is the right problem.

I have run Windows Defender, Superantispyware, and Malwarebytes. One of them (it was so long ago I can't remember which) found something, but it didn't look particularly important.

Mate,

When you ran that command did say that it was successful?
Because it is still the mini crash dump not the Kernal dump.

I ran wmic RECOVEROS get DebugInfoType and it says I am set for type 2.
On the last crash it created two dump files. One was a minidump the same size as everything else I have posted; it was in windows/minidump. The second was memory dump file of 1.9gb; it was in windows. I think that probably isn't what you want.
Where is the one you want?
I tried to upload the big file, but even zipped to .5gb it is too large.

Mate, are you able to upload that .5Gb file to somewhere like MediaFire or the like?
If you can't it's ok.
Any further crashes?

I have never used anything like this before, but it was easy enough.

Yes, it is crashing regularly. It has stopped freezing though.

Interestingly, it doesn't crash during windows updates, long diagnostics, or copying huge file; but immediately afterwards.
It does crash during an image backup though; I haven't been able to do one.

I don't know what that might predict for a bios update.

Mate,

Sorry this is taking a bit of time.
Could you please go to the Intel web site HERE and see if iaStor.sys will update.
Run the Intel Driver Update Utility.

I went to the intel site, but the utility wouldn't run, saying i needed activex/java.
I downloaded java, still wouldn't run.
I downloaded activex, still wouldn't run.
I downloaded Chrome, it ran fine.
It told me I had and old display adapter, wireless adapter, and RAID drivers.
I tried to update the display adapter, but it said it couldn't load because it wasn't certified for my computer.
I checked the Toshiba website, which says I have their latest driver.
Amazingly, the computer has now been up like 90 minutes; probably a record.
I updated the RAID driver.
After about 10 minutes it crashed, referencing iastora.sys, rather than the preupdate iastor.sys. This also happened last time I manually undated the drivers. Last time I went to the Toshiba website and installed their most recent drivers and the error went back to iastor.sys.

I never tried to update the wireless adapter drivers.

From the documentation that I have read it seems that either BIOS or Hardware can cause the error. Which doesn't help.

So the things I would try would be:

1/ Uninstall SuperAntiSpyWare.
2/ Update the BIOS v.1.40
3/ Replace the hard disk

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Mate,

Did you try the drivers from HERE?

Have a look at the Intel Rapid Storage Technology settings, option: 'Link Power Management' under 'Performance' Turn Intel link power management off
