SOLVED Need advice on external drive

Thanks, I didn't know this about the USB cables. I do know one thing, the backup software that was included was dirt slow, the slowest I've ever seen. I chose for it to be encrypted, would that make it so slow? Upon registration, I was given a free number for 30 days of complimentary support. I'm calling them, a backup shouldn't take that long, had it? But regardless of the backup software, it's a good drive. And on the page you linked, it was a 5 star one. I needed a large drive badly for this desktop.

The encrypted would slow it down but I have no idea as to how much slower it would be.
