Yes, I've tried it as well and the Ping test is an excellent method of determining your speeds. It shows different speeds, the best results are at night. There's nothing wrong with using these tests, either.

Speedtest.net is seems to the the most reliable source for me. You can check your speed through many points through the US & Canada.

Pingtest.net works the same way for checking ping and line quality.

Both sites are free.

SIW (System Information for Windows) also has a broadband speed checker.

No, you're quite fine, Kalario. There's a member of another forum that I sometimes visit, his download speed shows as 351MB/sec. That's his sig.

I suppose he's flaunting it to everyone.

With your speed, you shouldn't need a D/L manager for huge tasks. I can still remember back when we had speeds of 56KB/sec, we thought we had something. How fast time changes things.

Your ping is terribly high for such a fast connection, mine runs around 47ms.

My speed varies considerably, it seems to be faster when I use sites far away from me. Although my download speeds are almost steady, the tests paints a different picture.

I guess I do not need any boosters !!! :)
Nope... you sure don't need any stinkin' booster at all! LOL! That connection rocks!

I thought mine was fast, but yours is like Warp Factor 10!

Ping may be a little high, but it seems alright though. Go to: www.pingtest.net to verify it and run it two or three times to be sure.

Here's mine from Austin, TX:

I heard something very true on talk radio the other day... it goes like this: There is Texas and there is Austin; Austin is NOT Texas! Oh, how true, how true!

No disrespect, but I think , imho, it would benefit the quality of the forum if old threads were not ressurected. Unless they have input, which will definitely enhance that previous, a new thread would be a much better, and well received, idea.

This one is a good example. It has been brought back from the grave twice already.
