I have cleaned up my desktop

I hadn't heard of this utility until now. Unfortunately, reading all
the caveats, it's very limited. I don't think the original
SysInternals would have put their name on this.

Sounded interesting until I read that the Windows taskbar (and its tray
icon area) would not be included on the other desktops. That means the
only value to the other desktops are the shortcuts you place on the
desktops. The list of shortcuts in the Start menu, QuickLaunch toolbar
(and other toolbars you add), and the system notification area (tray
icons) would be missing. So you get more desktops with reduced
functionality. Hmm, nope, not for me.
