Does this work?
No, of course it doesn't work. What's with the fascination to see if
something non-standard 'works'? :)

A sig-delimiter starts in column 1 and consists of a dash, a second
dash, a space, and a hard return. It's really that simple.

If it was self updating you could just copy all onto a DVD.
Then you have them all, all the time.
But every time new device came to market (multiple times a day?), the file
would be incomplete.

Nope. Much worse than before. I give up.
Me too. AFAICT, either D@LS is troll toying with us, or he really has a
problem with following instructions.

He might not be a good candidate for the idea of RTFM :)

At this point, I think the trolling scenario is most likely. Perhaps
we should be embarrassed for not bailing on him/her earlier. After
all, how hard is it to type a dash dash space return? Four keystrokes
can't be all that hard.

I'd hate to see him/her trying to tie a shoe!

LOL!

It's too late in the day for coffee, so my keyboard remains dry :)

I did mean to say "is A troll". Obviously...
