I don't see that it has anything to do with bigotry. Instead, the
replies have simply been a measure of this group's ability and
willingness to police itself in an effort to stay on topic and not
become a free for all.

You were here long before me, Char. If you think it's inappropriate I'll
follow suit.
Personally, I always feel that some peripheral topics help a group and
stop it becoming too inbred. When the latter happens you get idiots and
lowlife playing games and wasting time.

I agree with you on the value of a bit of OT-ness.

I can always skip those posts or threads that I don't care about, which
might, by some weird chance, even include on-topic posts, believe it or
not
