I use an external backup drive but I've been thinking of putting in another
internal drive and using it to mirror the C: drive. How do you set that up,
can Win 7 handle that or is there a software product you recommend?
I've been using various versions of Acronis True Image for longer than
I can remember, so that's what I recommend since it's what I know.
It's easy, it's automatic once you set it up, and it's extremely
reliable. If you think your residence is overly susceptible to fire,
theft, vandalism, etc., then you may want to think twice, but for the
vast majority of home users the risk of backing up to an internal
drive is negligible. Other backup methods each have their own set of
risks, so it's a trade-off from one scenario to another.

My recommendation would be different if you're running a business, but
for home users an internal drive is fine and is my recommendation.
Other people have other recommendations and their views are equally
valid.
