Allow Prog to Make Changes

IT would be fine if it asked for permision once but it does it everytim and its ridiculous for Windows 7 ask over and over if ytou trust IE 8, At least once confirmation, and then it should open it but no----

Windows 7 was not tested well and I was a sucker a gain- its slow tith reorgznizing files with videos - its intermminably slow- SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH Windows XP but my system was slow no matter what I did and the discs were damages so I just said I 'll upgrade- BIG MiSTAKE IT SUCKS(its 430 am- i can barealy type)

Anyway how do you take owenrship. ITS NOT EVEN INTUITIVE.

Another ridiculous thing is windows 7 doesnt even allow you to make afile in the z drive you can put stuff in -
:dontknow: IT doesnt recognize it, its locked, or it makes it and files are supposed to be saved in it- but there not

Microsoft took the oppositie tact with W7 where they guarded the PC from its own user.

Just makes me pissed off- and not want to use it - and realize the MS made another bad product with major bugs.

I keep looking for an update to address these problems- bit no.

If your that peed off with it - use a MAC or install UBUNTU!

Problem solved.

As far as I am concerned - Windows 7 is a huge improvement on Vista. Now- THAT WAS slow!

I have a program installed in C:\Program Files as usual. When I run it I
get "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher
to make changes to this computer?"

I have flagged the exe to run as administrator, doesn't help. Is there a
way to disable the UAC message for only this program?

I have now found out how to do this. Please follow the link below to disable UAC for a single application only.

It basically uses a Microsoft application called "Application Compatiblity Toolkit". It saves an entry for the application to be run and prevents windows nagging you each time you run it. Its better than switching UAC off, as that may leave you open to an unsecure PC.

I have done this for a program that monitories my RAID status.
Type Task Scheduler in the Start search box and press [Enter]
Click Create Task in the right panel
Type a name for the task (name it after your application) and click the check-box Run with highest privileges
Select the Actions tab and click the New button
Browse to the program in the Program/script box by clicking the Browse... button. Click OK (2x)
Close Task Scheduler
On your desktop, right click, choose New > Shortcut
In the location box type: schtasks.exe /run /tn TaskName where TaskName is the name of task you created at #3 and click Next
Type a name for the shortcut and click Finish

Now, you can double click the shortcut to run the program without UAC prompt.

If you want to have a certain program run automatically at startup, copy the shortcut you created to \Users \ {User Name} \ AppData \ Roaming \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs \ Startup

First, do a full scan for malware. If your AV and security program's not
up to date, then download and run one of the Live CDs from a security
company such as AVG or Kaspersky.

If that shows no problems, then check the drive for file system errors
and bad sectors using the Windows tools as has been discussed here many
times.

If they both come up negative, then you may need to extract a copy from
your installation medium and copy it to C:\Windows\System32 while logged
in as the Administrator.

RASAPI32.dll is a file used by the modem control system, and is also
used by 3G dongles and such.
