3 repeating updates

Turns out I didn't go back far enough; but since I've installed a
program with add-ons since my last restore I won't bother for
now. And I only have PowerPoint Viewer 2007 on this computer; if
I could uninstall it I could probably get rid of all those Office
2007 updates but it only gives me the choice to repair it.
I have PowerPoint Viewer installed and the latest Windows Updates didn't
give me any problems. Anyway, try and uninstall it by using Revo
Uninstaller Portable (free) :

I ran Windows Updates on Patch Tuesday...
According to another poster, Microsoft claims to have
fixed it. I'm still waiting for an affected individual
to notice that it's stopped happening and give us an

The new updates have been released, but if Windows is not set to
automatically update, I'm sure you would have to check for new updates.

September 2013 Office Update: Targeting and Repeated Offering

The Microsoft Office Sustained Engineering Team
12 Sep 2013 12:53 PM

Since the shipment of the September 2013 Security Bulletin Release, we
have received reports of updates being offered for installation multiple
times, or certain cases where updates were not offered via Windows
Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

We have investigated the issue, established the cause, and we have
released new updates that will cease the unnecessary re-targeting of the
updates or the correct offering of these updates.

I just did a Win Update. Nothing came in, but the three updates I hid
are no longer there. However the history still contains two instances of
each install.

I guess that's all corrected then. As for the history, well, I suppose
it's best to leave it as they have done.

Thanks, MS.
