The links above? Yes you need to save the ISO to your hard drive. If it is not already, next install IMGBurn. Then right-click on the ISO file on your hard drive and choose "Burn using IMGBurn".

I recommend IMGBurn because I have experience with it, it is free, and I know it works. IMGBurn understands an ISO is an image containing many files and when it is burned to the DVD it will be many files. You can use other DVD Burning software but if the DVD ends up containing a single file then it did not open the image it merely burned the ISO file.
Thanks TM!

Can i make it a universal disc by just deleting the ei.cfg file from the Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit english iso
Yes it will. Go to this tutorial I did a couple of years ago and you'll see how it's done. Yes, Ultimate will be an option for you, so the other posters' comment does not apply.

https://www.w7forums.com/get-four-versions-windows-7-x64-one-dvd-t2911.html

This tutorial works with either the 32-bit or 64-bit version ISO images.

I have used these Universal Install discs with no issues on quite a few clients computers with no issues at all.

It sure beats having 4 to 5 different install DVDs.

In answer to your question. If you remove the ei.cfg file it will make it look like a universal ISO. The problem is you would have to rebuild the ISO if wanted to change it back to ultimate. There are better options out there.
This statement is not true. It does become a "universal" install DVD. The 32-bit becomes 5 different editions and the 64-bit becomes 4 different editions.

See this link to my tutorial: https://www.w7forums.com/get-four-versions-windows-7-x64-one-dvd-t2911.html

You can remove the ei.cfg file and install any edition of Windows 7 you want to install. You can not however activate an installation of Windows 7 Home Premium with a Windows 7 Ultimate activation key. To activate Windows 7 Home Premium, you will need a Windows 7 Home Premium activation key.

Ultimate has everything Home Premium has plus a few extras. You can install Home Premium to test it but w/o activation it will expire in 30 days.

And I'm not sure what your fascination is with the hash values but NO, the hash values wouldn't be the same for any of the versions listed and it would change again once you remove the ei.cfg. The whole point of a hash value is so that the data plus the hash value result in a net result of 0 so the integrity of the data can be verified; it wouldn't be much value if the data could change and the same hash values still worked.

I am trying to reinstall Windows 7 cos my pc keeps freezing...I need help

I download the Windows 7 Home Premium x64 English iso and burnt it to a disc. Then I click on the setup file and keeps giving me the errors :

E:\Sources\SPWIZENG.DLL is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system admin or the software vendor for support.

Then a second message box comes with error :

The file 'autorun.dll' couldn't be loaded or corrupt. The setup cannot continue. Error code is[0xC1]

Did I download the wrong iso ? What did I do wrong please help...My system specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system
Manufacturer: HP
Running service pack 1

Please help....

amaltom, The only difference between the original links and the media refresh edition (SP1-U) is a single windows update modification which makes the install work on the one in 10,000 machines that get an error with the original. Still, since you don't know whether you will be that 1 in the 10,000, you may as well download SP1-U if you are downloading one anyway.

And yes the N-version should work with your product key but why would you want to install N?

clmb007, It is possible there was an error in the download but even more likely is an error in the DVD burn. You might try burning it again on a slower burn speed, like 3X and also turn on verify.

Alright, I think I will give it a try. But did I at least download the correct version ?

If you have a Home Premium license and want the 64-bit version (x64) and want the language to be English then, yes that's what you would download.

If I have a 64 bit system, do I only need to download the 64 bit (ENGLISH) file? What else is needed? Thanks!

correct. There is a small possibility you will need drivers, but the Install will tell you if you do ... normally this is for RAID or SSD hard drives.

I recomend dpwnloading the Windows 7 sp1 media refresh version which includes service pack 1 and some additional updates. These are not OEM images

http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58996.iso Windows 7 Home Premium x86 English

http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997.iso Windows 7 Home Premium x64 English

I don't know about OEMs. They come pre activated so the License key cannot be used again

Doing a upgrade installation might keep your license but sometimes you get screwed windows 7 worst than the previews one .
To do an upgrade installation, you has to run the installer from an activated Windows OS. The downloaded ISO has to be burned to a DVD or USB drive. Booting from the DVD does a fresh installation

You can't download the OEM ISO images legally. They might be available on torrent sites (NOT LEGAL) but still they works (no 100% guarantee)
Google it

Nearly most everyone will be fine with the standard SP1 ISO image. As explained from the website http://www.mydigitallife.info

The latest version of Windows 7 DVD image available is of media refresh version, which commonly known as Windows 7 SP1-U (Media Refresh). Microsoft released the media refresh version of Windows 7 DVD media to fix a rare bug related to invalid computer name when small set of computer names returned error when used to install Windows 7. Otherwise, the Windows 7 with SP1 and Windows 7 with SP1-U (Media Refresh) is completely the same.
This explains it a little better:
Microsoft has published a new refresh version of Windows 7 with SP1 integrated ISO media on May 12, 2011, which fixes a minor issue which causes Windows 7 SP1 media cannot be used to install on new PC. The Windows 7 SP1-U (Media Refresh version) includes the installation hotfix KB2534111, and nothing else. No other changes have been made to the Windows 7 with SP1 ISO image despite there are tens of updates been released after the Windows 7 SP1 was released.

Laptops usually come preinstalled and pre-activated with a genuine key. Your windows key is usually on a sticker on the bottom of your laptop.

If your laptop is currently working then you can also install a piece of software called SIW which can be used to look up your key from within your computer (Install and run it, then go to Software > Licenses) and then you can simply write it down. Keep your key in a secure place and never share it over the internet.

SIW and many other fine products can be found in our Freeware DB.
