Word 2000 deleting formatted Autocorrect causes crash

I created an Autocorrect that substituted a Greek mu for mu. It no longer works. It gives a square instead of the Green mu. In the Autocorrect dialogue box I go to mu and press the Delete key or the Replace key. This causes a dialogue box to appear “Microsoft Word has stopped working”. The result is that Microsoft Word 2000 stops working.

Generally your best option is to restore your computer to a time when it still worked and hopefully that solves it. Or try uninstalling the software and then reinstalling.

I've had this problem for so long that I don't know when it started. I am wondering if anyone else has trouble with formatted Autocorrects in Word 2000 on Windows 7.
