Windows won't let me extend one of my volumes.

I found a family member's old laptop from March 2009, a DELL Inspiron 1545, which was made when Windows 7 was still in beta. It's dual-booted with Windows Vista on the C:\ drive and Windows 7 on the G:\ drive.

The C:\ drive has only 41 GB total, with 25 GB free. I wanted to extend this volume, but Windows won't let me. Both Windows Vista (with Service Pack 2) and Windows 7 (with Service Pack 1) are installed. Even when I boot into Windows Vista, I can't extend the volume.

Do I need to do something extra? I'm not going to reinstall Windows on any drives, so please don't suggest that.
