About every 30 seconds I get a dialog box saying Windows is not responding.
I am dead for quite a while until it starts up again.

How much ram? How good is the processor and what speed and brand?. How
many programs running at the time? Laptop or desktop?. New system or
old? These are all helpful when posting a question like this.Doubtful
that anyone can give you a direction without more info.
