Thank you all. Appreciate the help.The obvious choice is WinRAR, but as others have pointed out, there
are free alternatives such as 7zip.

Ubuntu is more similar to a train wreck and would require many hours of
messing with to learn the cryptic commands that you need to tweak that
INFERIOR OS to do what you want.
