My PC is one I built 2 years ago and I tried to install 2 more modules of RAM. The slot for one was obstructed so I removed the other and left in the 2 originals. When I switched on it goes as far as 'Windows' and no further. Can anyone help please?

Well if you weren't grounded you may have damaged your motherboard with static electricity but hopefully you just have something loose. I would ground yourself by touching a metal lamp to discharge any static electricity, then open it back up and make sure you have the original RAM back in the same slots it was always in and that it is locked in firmly, then make sure you haven't knocked any cords loose inside. Then try rebooting again.
