Windows Explorer difference?

I have W7 on two Acer laptops. The older one was a new W7 install. The
newer one was an upgrade from the Vista that it came with. Both Home
Premium. When I start Windows Explorer, the new one has, under the top
"Favorites" heading, 5 items. The old one only has the bottom 3 items. The
top 2 - "Recently changed" and "Public" are missing. How can I turn them
on? TIA, Paul

Did you try looking at the right-click menu on Favorites?

It's pretty self-explanatory.

Not obvious to me. Do I have to manually find and add the missing items?
What else is different? Maybe the old laptop thinks I'm a newbie and the
new laptop thinks I'm an intermediate or expert?

For instance: "Add current location to Favorites" means add current
location to favorites. Go to a folder, then do that and it's there.

Or you could drag a folder from the right-hand pane into the favorites.

Press delete on a favorite folder to delete it.
