SOLVED Windows cannot find file message.

I “used” to have a .docx file on my desktop but somehow it has disappeared. I searched my hard drive and search finds the file but when I click to open I get the following message: Windows cannot fine ‘file:///c:/<file name> Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.


Is there anything I can do to try and recover this file?

You could try using "Recuva" to try and recover the deleted file (if it's not in the recycle bin?):
