I have attempted to install windows 7 Pro on a Gateway 710X computer. The Install program goes through several steps and halts with an error code of 0xE0000100 with the message ...verify that the installation sources are accessible.... The installation source is a DVD ROM and the install program has already read and transfered the install files, so this message makes no sense.

HELP!

Is this an original Microsoft installation DVD (as opposed to an ISO burned from TechNet/MSDN/Student Purchase) and are you trying to perform a clean install?

Also, what is the current partition setup? I found this issue with Windows Vista, but I would have thought it would have been fixed in Windows 7 : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939727.

error code 0xE0000100

This install is with a Microsoft Original DVD using a 1.5 Tb new hard drive with one partition, using the entire available space.

Hmm, this one has me stumped. I will see if I can dig out any more information on this.

Has it done this several times when trying a clean install?
