Windows 2008 R2 drivers in Windows 7

Am I right in thinking that Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7 are very similar and based on the same core?

If that is so, can I use Windows 2008 R2 drivers in Windows 7 and visa versa? :)

Yes, you are correct in that the same kernel is used. Just be careful.
