Can anyone help please - I downloaded win 7 Pro 64 bit ( X17-24281) I then copied all files on to DVD. I place the DVD into my PC at start up and nothing happen. Is this download a bootable program ??
Yes, if you use an application designed to handle bootable ISO's. ISO's are compressed files used to store many files including files needed for CD/DVD's to boot. You can not simple copy the ISO or its contents to disk and expect it to boot. You must use an application that knows how to handle the files needed for booting.
Me personally, I use Nero for all my burning needs. I think other members use freeware applications such as ISOBurn.
MS have released a little DVD/USB ISO burning tool for just this reason - it's not as comprehensive as the link that Clifford posted, but it may be easier to use if it's just a one off:
