Win7 Log Off/On Dialogs

I was shown a Win7 laptop and the owner logged off he got a dialog
similar to WinXP Classic.

He didn't know how that was setup.

Is there a way to get Win7 Pro to have logoff dialog?

Even better, is there a add-on that will force Win7 to have both logon
and logoff dialogs similar to WinNT?

Yes, there is a way, simple if you have Win 7 Pro or Ultimate, a little
bit more involved for the Home versions.

Just Google it, in the first screen there are 4 good tutorials.

Most complete one is:

Most likely he has some programmes open and W7 a screen comes up asking
to close them and any open documents changes will be lost.

What happens if all his programmes are closed before he shuts down?

Thanks, this MAY do. In fact, it's much more secure.

BUT the WinXP/NT Classic logon dialog CAN show the previous users
name. The method above gets the "Interactive Logon" dialog but
without the user's name.

No, as a previous reply hinted, he likely has "Interactive Logon"
enabled in [Local Security Policy], [Security Options].
