Win7 - IE 9 vs IE 8

I know IE9 has lots of goodies and advantages over IE8, however, one thing
bothers me and I was wondering if you guys have the answer.

To search something, you simply type it the request in the URL box. IE9
only has the one box, it has done away with the separate search box. When
doing this, I don't have a history of what I've search for. If I type
something in the IE8 search bar, I can always copy that search or re-paste
it again and add to it the length creating a new search. I don't know how
to do this with IE9. With IE9, the "text" you typed (that you want to
search for) gets replaced by the most common URL, therefore, you no longer
have access to the original "text" that you typed.

At this point, I prefer to have a separate search bar (unless someone can
shed light).

You can install the Google search bar in IE9.

I would like the separate search bar but I want to be able to have access to
all of the different search engines with in that search bar. currently IE
has all of the search engines available by using the dropdown bar located to
the right of the search/URL bar. I don't mind switching engines using that
method, but I want a separate search bar so that the history is preserved...
as I explained earlier. Thanks for your post.
