OK, I've searched everywhere for Windows 7 File Structure, here and Google. No hits with the answer I'm looking for.

I would like a full listing or (better) screenshot of the entire default Win7 File Structure.

Is there one :dontknow:

You may hope that Thrax sees this thread and answers it. He would probably know.

There's a difference between 32bit & 64bit?!

When I say File Structure = File Tree, like you see using Explorer.scf (see attachment)

If there is a difference, I would need both 32bit & 64bit.

What I need in particular is where Win7 hides the Start Menu tree. I did not see it under User (Win7) like you do under Documents and Settings (WinXP).

I need this for those programs that should be for All Users (User\Shared ) but the program's installer does not have that option. I move such \Programs entries from the individual user to \All Users\Start Menu\Programs.... when need be.

I think you may be looking for:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

You sent a screenshot (thank you VERY much) of the tree in a previous post, please, could you send a screenshot of an example of the expanded tree \Users\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows showing the Start Menu

Also, from your previous screen, I don't see the equivalent of WinXP's \All Users\Start Menu, so how do you have the same function in Win7?

Another way to look at this, is HOW does Win7 handle apps that install for all-users?

All users is placed in the **Program data" path, as in Ians post. Specific users are in the path I listed (I am logged on as "Administrator", for personal reasons).
Don't take any notice of the folders you see. Yours will be quite different, as mine is heavily customised for my own ease of use.
