First of all this thread seems like it should be somewhere like the windows 7 support category.

I have a few questions.
1) what is the name of the software you are trying to run?
2) Did you check to see if you have the latest software? Most software developers and engineers are releasing both the 64 bit and the 32 bit.

Yes give us more information because windows 7 should not have a problem running 32 bit programs even when it's 64 bit, this leads me to think you may have another problem rather then a compatibility issue. In fact one of your problems may be that the software you are running is too "old" to run on windows 7 ( how old is the software? ).
What exactly is the error message you receive when trying to run these 32 bit programs? I don't think changing to 32 bit right way is going to solve your problems, you need to tell us more before I can say for certain.

One last solution that I can think of for running 32 bit software ( you shouldn't be having trouble though ) is installing windows 7 32 bit inside a virtual machine and using your valid product key to activate it. NOTE: I do not understand if this is legal or not. I ( or this forum ) can not be held accountable for this advice. I have never tried it, but I figure it's legal because you are still installing it on the same system board.

However I do not bother reading that EULA crap but I still obey the law through pure common since like not copying and redistributing. So It should not be Illegal since you are not installing it in another computer. You will need to download VM ware, and learn how to install an operating system in it, then download and install the the 32 bit version of windows 7 you are using ( for example home premium ). http://techpp.com/2009/11/11/download-windows-7-iso-official-direct-download-links/
