I have a upgrade Win 7 disc. Can I use it to do a custom install on a new hard drive?

I have done this with three of my PCs. No prior OS was required on the system.

O.K. I just switched my hard drive, which doesn't have anything on it. And the screen came up and said " Invalid Partition Table " Any idea what that means?

Could be your new HDD is not formatted. You might need to format it, probably NTFS would be best and give it a volume label.

Set your DVD drive to be the first boot device in the BIOS. Put in the install disc and boot up.

You'll see a prompt which says: Press any key to boot from DVD or CD

Do that within 4 seconds and the install will begin. Then later during the install you can partition and format the hard drive.
