Win 7 Email Question

D

d

I have Win 7, and IE 8.

Frequently, when I try to forward an email, that has an embedded
picture within the original emal, the picture is not forwarded. Where
the picture was originally located, I get a rectangular box with a red
x in the upper left corner. I assume that I have a security setting
that precludes the complete email from being forwarded, but I have no
idea what I need to change. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

thanks

What email program?

Are you sure the picture is actually in the original email, or is it
really a link to a picture out on the internet somewhere?

Neither of which is an e-mail program.

In what local e-mail client? Or using whose webmail page?

You sure the image is embedded? If you look at the *raw* source for
the e-mail (not possible in all e-mail clients), do you see a MIME part
for where the binary content of the image has been translated into a
long text string (since ALL e-mail gets sent as text)? If so, what is
the value for the "disposition" parameter? Is it "attached" or
"inline"? Or is there no MIME part for the image and instead it isn't

That a setting might affect inclusion of image content, especially if
it was linked in rather than actually embedded, depends on what e-mail
client you are using but never mentioned.

I am using Gmail to receive/send emails, with IE 8. Often times the
received email will have several vertical bars, indicating it had
been successfully forwarded by others. Yet when I attempt to again
forward the emial (with an embedded picture), the picture is replaced
with an empty rectangular box (less a small red x in top left corner).

Sorry that I was not more explicit with my first post.
