Win 7 Crash In Win Explorer

O

OldGuy

Win 7 Pro

Windows Explorer
Computer
Windows (C:)
or any other listed under Computer e.g. HDD, USB Drive LAN Drive,
CD/DVD

If I right-click any item under Computer, Win 7 crashes.
The error message only talks about Explorer.
I have done "Check online for a solution ... " but nothing is ever
returned.

I seems that something on the right-click menu causes Win 7 to crash.
I have no other problems with win 7.
Right-Click under other Win Explorer work fine: Favorites, Libraries
etc. All open their right-click menu.

So, how do I discover what is in the right-click menu?
Where do I find that menu list so I can try to isolate what might be
causing this crash?

Some Nirsoft software is mentioned here, beside using Regedit.

I've posted this before. Explorer crashes are most often caused by
third party software that have a contextual menu item. Get shellxview
and turn off contextual menus selectively until you find the one that
is causing explorer to crash. You don't need to uninstall the program,
just turn off the contextual menu with Shellexview. The pink entries
denote third party software in Shellexview. This fixes the problem in
most cases.

I feel your system files would be corrupt. Use System File Checker, a utility in Windows to fix problems associated with OS files.

1. Insert Windows 7 OS installation disc.
2. Click Start, select Run.
3. Type SFC /SCANNOW
4. Click OK.
5. Reboot your machine after the process is performed.
