Check out Control Panel | Ease of Access Center | Make the keyboard easier
to use. There is a checkbox under "Make it easier to type". It says "Turn
on Toggle Keys; Hear a tone when you press CAPS LOCK, NUM LOCK, or SCROLL
LOCK." Then, under that line, is another check box to "Turn on Toggle Keys
by holding down the NUM LOCK key for 5 seconds". I THINK this last box is
checked by default, and many users - including myself now and then - have
triggered this toggle inadvertently.
