?Hi, Gun.
Windows Live Mail stores each email message in a separate file with an .eml
extension. Each newsgroup post is in its own .nws file. So, instead of a
few .dbx files (which OE calls "folders") containing perhaps thousands of
messages each, WLMail has perhaps thousands of .eml and .nws files holding a
single message each.
To find the location of your Message Store in WLMail, follow just about the
same click-path as in OE6: Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store
Folder. The name of the main file is Mail.MSMessageStore, but there are a
lot of related files and folders, too.
Many new users of WLMail are stymied by the apparently missing Menu Bar,
with its familiar buttons for File | View ... etc. That's because the
WLMail developers decided to hide that bar, by default, to provide more
vertical screen real estate. To turn it on momentarily, just press <Alt>;
to toggle it On/Off, press <Alt>+M, M.
You posted using WLMail build 14.0.8089.0726, which the WLMail Team calls
Wave 3, or WLMail 2009. Many of us are used the recently-released WLMail
2011, Wave 4, build 15.4.3502.0922. It features the new Ribbon UI, like the
Office 2010 suite. (But it has some changes (bugs?) that some of us don't
like, such as failure to clearly indicate quoted messages, like my quote of
your message, below.) You can check it out for yourself at

I am using live mail, what file extensions are being used? (*.dbx) in
outlook express.
I also can't find the path in Win7 where all the news files are being
stored.
