W7 freezing

Hey folks,

I recently downloaded W7 Ultimate after running the upgrade tool and ascertaining there were not conflicting hardware or software issues. This was a soft upgrade on a PC running Vista Ultimate. The upgrade went fairly smooth with the exception of having to find the executible to resume the install at one point.
Anyway, it freezes at no particular point or software usage. The screen kinda looks like a video card conflict, but, researching the card it was found to be totally compatible.
So, I'm guessing there is some kind of registry crap left over from Vista?
Otherwise, I'm liking the new OS
