User Profile Cannot be Found

Hi there,

Today my sister tried logging onto her computer, and she was met with the 'User Profile Cannot be Found' message. After some basic googling on her phone, we found out that we should boot the computer in safe mode. However, whenever we tried to press f8 or even f5 nothing would happen, and it would not go to the Advanced Boot Options screen. Instead, what we did was restart the computer, and before the windows logo would appear there was a screen displaying the HP logo. Here it prompted us to press 'Esc' which we did. Afterwards the screen showed, 'System Information, System Diagnostics, Recovery', among other things. We tried going through each of these options, yet no where did we find anything about booting in safe mode. If anyone could help that would be great.

Boot the computer till the swirling windows logo starts & then press and hold your power button so it shuts down. Now press the button again and you should get a screen that says windows did not shut down properly, what do you want to do and one option should be safe mode.
