Upgrading was completely painless. All my settings and programs are
intact and work as usual. If you don't want the, no longer named, Metro
interface don't use it. Even my wallpaper is the same. As a long time
Linux user I'm more than familiar with the mouse movement into the
corners to bring up dialogs so this was a non issue. I can see where it
would be useful on a tablet or a touch screen with the boxes, but it
doesn't hamper a normal desktop environment at all as far as I can see.
It's fun and interesting. Do you need it? No. But, it's on sale most
places for half of what it will cost in a couple of months so if your
interested at all nows the time to buy.
