LocalHero
Well, I decided to do a system restore to before the problem started,LocalHero said:Greetings - this is driving me mad due to my ailing/ageing memory!
I have had an icon for IE on my taskbar forever, and I had set up a
number of websites, that when I rightclicked on the IE icon, they
would be visible in a list (Jumplist?) so that I could click and go
straight there.
But something went wrong with the IE icon in the taskbar, in that the
"e" vanished, and was replaced by a generic type icon.
So I unpinned that, navigated to the iexplore.exe and pinned that to
the taskbar to start anew. Nice shining "e" icon is back.
But now I can't add websites to the IE icon.
I've been creating desktop shortcuts to the sites and trying to drag
them onto the IE icon, which is what I seem to recall doing in the
past, but that doesn't work - just get the "No Entry" sign.
How do I add website shortcuts to appear when I right-click on the IE
icon?
Many thanks.
and it's now functioning as it used to.
In the process I've learned some stuff from all your replies though, so
many thanks to all.
